How to (not) play Link! Like! LoveLive!

オタ活 | March 2025Read in Outline

So, you are interested in Hasunosora but you don't want to be stuck in gacha hell? You're in luck! This guide will show you around Hasunosora content in Link! Like! LoveLive! while not getting yourself caught playing bad game. (Yes, you don't have to)

Fuck this shit Fuck this shit

Everyone says Hasunosora has a game called Link! Like! LoveLive! but it's not a game, it's a school idol supporting platform, it's the gateway to the world of Hasunosra school idol club. The game is bad and you should not play it seriously (maybe rhythm game will make it better who knows)

You can enjoy most content without playing the game, only a subset of the features requires you play the game. Here is a table that summarize all the contents available and the requirements.

Content Requirements Note
Activity Records (Story) None Free Sisca (Gacha Currency) if you watch it in the month
With×Meets None Free Sisca if you tune in before/during the stream
With×Meets After Requires Gifting Gifting archive also give access to it.
Fes×Live None Better camera angles requires you to play the game
Fes×Live After Requires Grade Points (as of March 2025) You need some game but barely.
With×Meets/ Fes×Live Archives None Can gift for After for With×Meets, but no Fes×Live After requires you to already unlock it
Card Voice Obtaining the card/ Limit break There are insane amount of plot in those cards too

Thankfully the game offers you a somewhat powerful deck that allows you to pretty much clear everything by just skipping. So we'll be abusing that to get everything we need.

With FesxLive on Youtube dying beginning this month (March 2025), I decided to make this guide to . Unfortunately the game is fully in Japanese, so if you don't understand Japanese it'll be somewhat rough. Hopefully this guide would convince people to download LLLL! and enjoy Hasunosora in first person on your smartphone.

Update 5/8/2025 : 105 Update. Grade Challenge/ Grade Quest doesn't give grade points anymore, it was fun while it lasted.

Do I really need to play the game?

Before we move on to the next section. If you see the table above, Activity Records, With×Meets and Fes×Live are all available from the start without any need to do anything. These are the big 3 pillars of Hasunosora experience. But by playing the game, you gain access to After for each streams and extra lore from card voices.

With×Meets and Fes×Live After contents ranges from extra content from the stream, extra songs, screenshot time or very important piece of lore. If you feel like this is not worth grinding for you can just download the game and call it a day.

Note that you can unlock past With×Meets After via archive but you can't unlock past Fes×Live After if you miss it.

The things i mention here can be long but it's only one time setup/ you only need to do it once for each Fes×Live. So you can watch the content available first and then decide if you want to commit further.

Let's start diving begin!

Overview

With×meets After requires you to gift the stream, Fes×Live After will require you to gain grade points by playing LGP. This guide will introduce you the steps for you to accomplish that.

Here are summary of what we'll cover.

  • Download the game
  • Clear the tutorial
  • Unlock Grade Live/Challenge
  • LGP
  • Pull 30 Gacha for gifts and fan level
  • Play Grade Live/ Grade Challenge (optional)

Let's begin!

Setting up

Download The App

Idk man, just get the game somehow on the App Store or Play Store. Change to Japanese Store? QooApp? just get it on your device somehow. I heard Bluestacks works too.

This screen will change soon :) This screen will change soon :)

Onboarding/ Tutorial

After you login to LLLL! for the first time, you will be asked whether you want to create new account, or login. (Fun fact, you can use same account on different devices at the same time)

Then you'll be asked to accept terms and condition/ privacy policy. Select each one (the top two buttons) and just close it to make accept button available.

Then you'll be asked for your user name. You can always change the name and I believe it doesn't need to be unique.

After that you'll be presented with big chungus download, large chunk of it are the assets used for rendering the 3D characters. Wait did i mention that everything is rendered real-time in your device? Including all the live streams and Fes×Live. Like, actual 3D render. Yeah, so if you have a beefy device you can enjoy everything in 4k on your own :).

The download will only take a few minutes as much larger portion of the download will be available background. After that you'll be present with the tutorial, which is basically just showing you around the interface. Just follow it.

Now you have LLLL! set up on your phone! Next we'll talk about different content available in the app

Activity Records

Activity Records is the "story" part of Hasunosora, it's meant to be things that happens behind the scenes. The story updates on an irregular schedule because it's supposed to be things that happened before that story update so it's "almost" real-time fashion. For example sometimes you will see story update right after a Fes×Live because it just updated, or there will be irregular long break because of exams.

So far there are 40+ hours of content in Activity Records alone, but personally I think you don't need to watch everything prior to get up to speed. I think it's more important to be in the moment to enjoy Hasunosora how it's designed to be. There are several Story Digest videos to help you catch up, and if you feel like watching a particular episode then you can watch them later.

Watching the latest Activity Records in that month will give you 200 sisca per chapter.

Update: Almost all activity records are available on Youtube https://www.lovelive-anime.jp/hasunosora/story/

School Idol Connect (With×Meets and Fes×Live)

With×Meets and Fes×Live are part of Hasunosora that is actually connected to the universe. Compared to Activity Records, this case you'll be experiencing Hasunosora in the first person. You can access it from School Idol Connect menu in the launcher. Within the universe, Hasunosora members also use School Idol Connect to do With×Meets and Fes×Lives.

With×Meets are streams 3 times a week (Mon, Thu, Sat ), mostly the content will be just chatting, announcement or sometimes doing more specific things (games, karaoke, asmr etc.). Because everything is so real time, sometimes they'll talk about important part (i.e. spoilers) of the story that just got updated earlier that day (canonically we don't know what happen behind the scene). Occasionally some With×Meets are also simultaneously streamed on YouTube too.

Fes×Live are lives that are held every 2 months, and it's just full-blown live. If you don't plan to watch any story, at least watch the live. Will talk about it in more details in this section.

With×Meets and Fes×Live have After section which is a little more content to the main part but it requires you to unlock which we will discuss in later section.

/doc/how-to-not-play-link-like-lovelive-r76xYbHMpn#h-gaining-access-to-fes%C3%97live-after-getting-grade-points

Every With×Meets and Fes×Live archives are available in LLLL. With×Meets archives are also uploaded to YouTube in a delayed fashion.

Activity Records, With×Meets and Fes×Live are the three main source of content for Hasunosora. Now we'll move on to the game part of the app :anguished:

School Idol Stage :face_vomiting:

I mentioned that this app is not a game, but I keep mentioning about the "game" earlier. The game part of LLLL! is called School Idol Stage. It's a type of card game where you generate a lot of LOVE by playing cards on your hand. basically you're shooting for big number by stacking a lot of multipliers. I actually lied a bit about not playing, but we'll be skipping every songs with the free rental deck we have.

New Sensation: Musical Card Game "School Idol Stage": Use skills along with the music, hype up the concert and collect everyone's hearts! New Sensation: Musical Card Game "School Idol Stage": Use skills along with the music, hype up the concert and collect everyone's hearts!

You can access the mode by pressing the menu button and click school idol stage.

There are different modes, to keep the explanation simple, we'll be focusing on Quest Live and Live Grand Prix. Live Grand Prix are required for us to gain grade points and ultimately give us Fes×Live After.

Quest Live

Quest live is where you farm materials to train your girls. You get 200 Sisca every stage you play and new areas are added every season (You get roughly 15,000 from this alone). In this case we're going to be playing some quest live to unlock grade live. To unlock grade live, you are required to play 30 Quest lives. Luckily this is very skippable.

Start by clicking into Quest Live menu and select an area.

Then you'll be presented with a map, select each stage to play

Now this popup will appear, which will show info about the song blah blah blah, press the blue button to play. Note that if we clear the song with 3 stars (which we will), you'll be able to skip it right from this screen. (You can try press this skip button and select 29 times too i suppose)

At the deck select screen, scroll to find the rental deck which will have this name: "10N期レンタルデッキ01", this is the team that will carry us to success.

Press Live Start button (blue button). Then to skip, look for skip button on the very top left of the screen and press it.

Bam, you've now skipped and clear the stage! We'll be doing this for all 30 quest lives. Note that if your device is bad your game might crash here and there but that's somewhat normal.

About Skipping

The rental deck we are using is pretty decent for clearing 80% of the contents available. For perspective, the deck generate 100 million points (100,000,000) just by skipping while you only need 1-50 million to clear most stages.

Stamina

Each stage uses 10 stamina, so we're technically 200 stamina short for clearing 30 lives. But you can refill it by spending 3 daily live quotas into more 15 stamina (you don't need them) and 50 Sisca for 100 stamina. (If you're in hurry, but this is the only time you need to do this). Now we're 50 over but hey :)

Press the yellow plus button on the top right to access stamina refill menu

Select what do you want to refill stamina with with, Sisca (The first item) or Dailly live quota (second item)

Choose how much you want to refill (50 for each daily live plays, 100 per 50 sisca)

Now your account should be ready to do start working towards stuff like Fes×Live After and With×Meets After.

Gaining access to Fes×Live After (Getting Grade Points)

tl;dr Play LGP

Fes×Live tickets are required to watch Fes×Live, and C "seat" tickets are required for Fes×Live After. Ticket ranks are assigned each by ranking for grade points obtained during the specified collection period. C seat tickets requires you to be within top 30,000 rank. But fear not! This is surprisingly very easy and you can skip all the stage required to get yourself up there.

The table below explains what each Ticket Ranks gives you in terms of camera angle. As you can see, dynamic view will always be available from the start (D rank ticket, Fes×Live After not included). The more you play the game the more camera angles will be available to you.

Camera Angle Explanation Ticket Rank
Dynamic View "Main" camera of the performance, basically this is the official camera angle where the camera will switch as they want it to be. None
Arena View View from the front area of the stage. C or above
Stand View View from the back area of the stage, you can see everything on the stage. B or above
Member Focus The camera will follow a certain member.

You can only pick a member only once.

If the member if not on the stage, the camera will switch to Arena View. | A or above | | Multi Member Focus | Same as member focus, but you can switch members. | S |

Yes, you are the one controlling the camera. You can also move around the camera as you like to create your own personal experience (Only available when watching it live 2 weeks after the live). After 2 weeks the archive will be available but will only be in dynamic view. (No I'm not trying to bait someone into playing)

Wanna look at the crowd? (Arena View, Panned and zoomed) Wanna look at the crowd? (Arena View, Panned and zoomed)

You like closeups? (Member focus, very zoomed in) You like closeups? (Member focus, very zoomed in)

The main source for grade points are Live Grand Prix The two grade live modes are different but will always be there give you grade points. Live Grand Prix (LGP) are time-limited and more involved requiring you to play (skip) everyday.

To unlock Fes×Live after, you need enough grade points to be on top 30,000 rank which is relatively easy (Dead game, i'm sorry). Participating in both Individual and Circle LGP can already get you to B level ticket and if you have a good circle you might even reach A rank ticket for member focus camera! But if you don't really mind you can just do individual LGP once.

Live Grand Prix (LGP)

Live Grand Prix are time-limited "events" where you clear stages and accumulate points. The difference compared to Grade Lives are that these are ranked and you'll get grade points depending on your individual ranking. There are also topics about multipliers you can get from seasonal level (leveling up cards, watching streams blah blah blah) and limit breaking card but if you're going this far you don't need this guide.

There are two LGPs every month, individual and circle LGP. The gameplay and scoring for both LGPs are the same, but ranks and prizes are tallied differently.

  • Individual LGP: Prize based on your ranking.
  • Circle LGP: Prize from your circle ranking (sum of individual ranking), requires you to be in a circle. tbh just join any circle and hope they don't kick you. Check out how to here

Every LGP will come with 3 stages, you just have to skip all of them. Since 105 update, the score calculation for LGP drastically changed which favors more casual players. The score you get for LGP is now based on ranking you get for each songs and "Safety Points" are now down to 75%. This means that missing a day will hurt more than before (because it's 75% and it operates on your final score). So uh…. the takeaway is if you want to try, at least finish your LGP runs everyday, that will give you an edge over the lazier players and might let you cheat your way to higher ranked tickets.

Because Grade Challenge/Quest are not eligible for Fes×Live ticket anymore, you can now actually get carried by your circle to get higher ranked ticket like before too. Every grade points matter here.

Collecting LGP Rewards

Usually LGP rewards are sent to your gift box directly, the timing of it is somewhat random and depends on the content releasing at the time (new story/ new gacha etc.)

For Circle LGP at the end of a term (before Fes×Live) things are a bit different, after LGP you'll get your grade points first a day or so after, which you should accept and see where your rank reflects. Then, you are required to enter the Fes×Live lobby to be eligible for receiving the rest of the rewards after. if you plan to watch Fes×Live outside the game enter the lobby at least once.

Checking Grade Points

This menu will show you what rank you are in and what tickets you're eligible for.

Accessing With×Meets After (Getting Gifts)

tl;dr pull gacha, gift streams and prioritize using whatever matches the member.

Thanks Rev Thanks Rev

Gift can be obtained from playing quest live, login bonus and gacha. Every gacha (except party banner, i.e. 2x UR rate up) will give you gifts. You need 10k gift points to unlock each With×Meets After.

That's like 23000 gift points worth. 43000 if you match correct member. That's like 23000 gift points worth. 43000 if you match correct member.

To gift, first enter the With×Meets you want to gift, the access will be able earlier the day until the end of regular stream. If you haven't unlock After, you will not be able to access the stream.

Each members will have gifts they like, so it's best to match the gift with the member to maximize gains from the gift you have. Flower doesn't have preference so you can always use them. In the beginning you might start with low amount of give so you have to somewhat manage how you gift, but as long as you're not going to 10k per stream it will be easy to keep up.

The gift that member likes will, have a heart on it, and if they really like it'll have a fancier heart. No need to remember this table but good to know ig.

Gray Green Gold Rainbow
Normal 100 500 1000 10000
Like (x 1.3) 130 650 1300 13000
Really Like (x 2) 200 1000 2000 20000

Once you select a gift you will see details about how many points you'll get from gifting and how many points you have accumulated. To unlock after you only need to gift 10,000 points. The point required grows per star grows exponentially so it's best to stick at 1 star per stream. (For ultra whales there are point rankings you can fight with other fans throwing screen). You can combine different types of gifts as long as it's all add up to 10,000.

If you gifted before stream ends, the stream will continue automatically to With×Meets After. You'll get a reward for each stream (Seasonal Level based on amount of the stars you gifted and 100 Sisca) in your gift box.

Conclusion

Hopefully this guide is enough to convince you to download Link! Like! LoveLive! and enjoy Hasunosora school idol club from your own device and not too complicated and become discouraging. As the time of writing there is only one LGP left for 104th year, so god knows how quickly this guide will become obsolete.

You might feel like there is a lot of info but you should do it at your on pace. This table summarize what you want vs what you should do.

You want the story Download the app, do nothing
You want Fes×Live After * Play Live Grand Prix
I want a bit more camera angles * Clear Grade Live
  • Play Grade Challenge monthly | | You don't want to login everyday but want as much stuff. | * Play Live Grand Prix (Twice a month, 6 days each) | | You want to login everyday but still not play | All of the above + dailies |

If you have any question, feel free to drop in a message in r/LL Discord Server!

It's never too late to start following Hasunosora.

Appendix: Joining a Circle

tl;dr do about 30 gacha pulls to unlock joining circle

In order to participate in Circle LGP you need to be in a circle, which requires Fan level of at least 24. Fan level system is slightly complicated, but Fan level is the combination of each member's Fan level. Each member's fan level is the sum of Seasonal Fan Level (Watching With×Meets/ Fes×Live, and gifting, resets monthly), Obtain/Limit breaking a card.

While biggest chunk of your Fan level comes from watching With×Meets/ Fes×Live, pulling gacha early on will get you started right away because most of the cards you will be pulling are new cards. From testing, you can get to level 24+ by just doing about 30 gacha pulls. This can be done easily from all the Sisca you collected during tutorial.

After you unlocked joining circle, enter circle menu by clicking on this button.

You'll be presented with a list of circles, just find one and enter and hopefully someone will carry you. Many people take circle seriously, either having a proper member audition or actively meeting up. For us might be best to join other member that just want to chill. Some keywords you're looking for is "初心者OK" (Beginners OK), "自由プレイ" (Play Freely) and the most important "自動承認"(Auto Accept)

After you join a circle you'll now be set for Circle LGP. Note that when you leave a circle on your own you'll have a 24 hours cooldown and you cannot leave during Circle LGP.

Appendix: Few more ways you can enjoy LLLL!

  • Decorate your own home screen/ profile icon/ profile card.
  • Interact with the chat during streams. Send mails to With×Meets
    • Chat messages gets read from time to time, mails also get read. Mail of some people I knew gets read on stream.

Appendix: Grade Live

Grade Live used to be one of the main sources for Grade Points, but with the increased frequency of Fes×Live (From once every 3 months, to once every 2 months) the game decided to drop grade challenge/ grade live from being eligible to Term Grade Points (i.e. it doesn't matter for Fes×Live anymore).

Nonetheless, grade points do still give a lot of rewards so it's still worthwhile to clear them from time to time

Grade Challenge

Grade Challenge are easier to play than grade question. Every month there will be 3 songs and by playing the song you gain grade points. So just go ahead and skip each song as usual.

Personally I think you only have to do it once per term (per Fes×Live), but you can play it every month if you feel like it hoping for better ticket rank.

Grade Quest

Grade Quest is slightly more complicated but somewhat optional if you don't feel like doing. It is a mode where you advance through shorter stages like quest live and gain grade points after clearing the stage/ achievements. Each stage will have gimmicks that affects gameplay but we're skipping everything so that will not be a problem (until skipping doesn't work…). We're suppose to like, you know, build decks and work around those gimmicks but the power creep is so insane everything is now skippable even for highest rank.

To explain simply, each stage will have a certain amount of move points. Each space you move will either have move points requirement or stage you have to clear. You have to at least spend 1 move point for each stage but you can use more move points lower the scoring requirement. So If you're struggling to clear a stage you can spend extra move points to help clear. Generally our skip strategy with rental deck will have about 100M scoring capability and will be enough for everything in stage 1 and 2.

Our goal here is to clear stage 1 and 2 of each season as those are very skippable. Find the shortest path from start to finish and skip every stages in between! (Update: Stage 3 is somewhat skippable too)

For term grade points, keep in mind that only points from eligible stage counts. So carefully check which stage are eligible
